10 Questions with Jamie Smith - Vice President of Marketing

The 10 Questions.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love to be creative. I mostly work behind the scenes on our marketing, advertising, graphics, artwork, blogs, creative, etc., but when I can get out in the field, I love to be that trusted source for my clients. I love to know I have made a difference for someone, that I have made it just a little easier for them. I have seen so many situations where people are not on the right plan, are not receiving the benefits they deserve, and more. I have a job where I feel great at the end of the day.
Q. Any Nicknames?
A. James
Q. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up?
A. So many things. A journalist, an artist, a poet, mainly everything difficult to make a living out of. An Airforce pilot was also pretty interesting to me, but so was being an Astronaut.
Q. Tell me one unique thing about you?
A. I lived on an Island in Alaska called Adak that only had 16 trees which made the Adak National Forrest.
Q. What are your Hobbies?
A. Creating things. I love to craft, paint, take photos, but mostly I spend time with my 18-month-old baby girl. She’s seriously the best thing. Watching her grow is pretty much the coolest thing I have ever been privileged to witness. Pre-Covid, I loved going to concerts and music festivals. I also love being outdoors!
Q. What are you binge-watching/reading?
A. I mostly read things about marketing, advertising, momming, DIY improvement, health. We’re also working our way through every Marvel movie in timeline order, or I watch Alien documentaries!
Q. Favorite Quote?
A. “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” ~ Marilyn Monroe
Q. Favorite Season and Why?
A. Oh, I love everything about the fall. I love to wear a sweater without a jacket. I LOVE the smell of a bonfire. I love spice smells, pumpkins, the sound of crunching leaves. The colors. A fire. There are just so many good things about the fall. However, I am totally and completely *gasp* anti-Pumkin Spice Lattes. Ick.
Q. Which Historical Figure would you most want to meet?
A. Nikola Tesla - I want to know what was in the missing chests from his New Yorker hotel room. I’ve watched every documentary, and he is so fascinating. Or Leonardo Da Vinci! Another fascinating human. Oh! Nostradamus. Ok, I'm done.
Q. What three things would you bring to a deserted island?
A. A boat, photos, firestarter. I would love to get away, but I could not be away from my family for probably more than 24 hours. Maybe even not that long. The idea is great in theory.
