Open Enrollment is available for recipients of Medicare Advantage.
The dust has settled after the Medicare Annual Election Period (October 15th - December 7th), and now you realize you have missed it entirely, or you mistakenly signed up for a plan that was not exactly right for you. What do you do?
Every year from January 1st through March 31st is the Open Enrollment Period. This is the time of year when a Medicare Advantage Plan recipient has the opportunity to change out their plan or look to make sure you are in the plan that is precisely right for you. You can use this time to:
Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another
Disenroll from a Medicare Advantage Plan and return to Original Medicare with or without a Part D Drug Plan
Over the years, it has been our experience that most people decide to disenroll from their Advantage Plan simply because they don’t understand it. So before you decide to disenroll or make a change, we need to be sure that you know all of your benefits and what you currently have or what you came into it from.
